Level 2 - Reporting a Concern (3 hours)

This course is suitable for all delegates working within the voluntary and independent sector supporting 'Adults at Risk of Harm' (formerly Vulnerable Adults), in a range of settings. 

This is a pre-requisite course for further learning provided by the Board.

Target Group:

  • This course is a pre-requisite to attending Level 3 Safeguarding

  • Are new in post or refreshing knowledge

  • May need to meet various standards/qualifications/continual professional development
     

Aims:

To raise the profile of the Safeguarding Adults Operational Guidance and apply this to:

  1. reporting a concern and
  2. completing Form 1 (Concerns Form)

 

Outcomes:

  • To be able to use the Operational Guidance and supporting Local Harm Threshold Table and Decision Making Flow Chart.
  • To be able to complete Form 1 to a high standard.

Course content:

  • Engage with delegates from a range of agencies and disciplines
  • Check out  existing safeguarding knowledge and understanding
  • Mental Capacity Act 2005 delivered at Foundation Level  
  • Applying the Mental Capacity Act in practice  
  • Revisit current knowledge and understanding
